YOUNG, Christine Marie – of Burton, age 69, passed away August 27, 2015 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Chaplain Hank J. Messing officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-1 PM and 3-8 PM Monday and 10:30-11:30 AM Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Christine was born in Goodrich, MI on March 29, 1946, daughter of the late Clayton and Gloria (Polzin) Weidenhammer. She married James Young on June 11, 1966 at First Baptist Church of Davison. Christine was a member of Michigan Cruisers car club and many years ago was a drag racing driver. She loved gardening, baking and was a great cook. Christine retired from Citizens Bank after 40 years of loyal service.
Christine is survived by her husband, James Young; son, James Young II; sister, Suzie (John) Beem; in-laws, Judy (Bill) Owen, Janet (Pete) Hommen, Joe (Ginger) Young; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by in-laws, Eddie and Virginia Young. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Reverence Hospice and Christine’s caregivers, Marcie Haskins and Margaret Brown for their loving and compassionate care.
