Beloved son, brother, soulmate, father, grandfather and uncle passed away unexpectedly on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020 at his home. Age 59 years. The son of LeRoy LaJeunesse and Patricia (Halley) Pence, Lee was born on February 15, 1961 Big Rapids, Michigan. Graduate from Ferris State University with a bachelor’s degree. For more than 43 years, Lee and his father operated L&L Machine Tool and he was currently serving as president of the company. Lee will always be remembered as a hardworking, cheerful and having the passion and tendency to do everything he could to help the benefit of loved ones. He loved to have fun and make people laugh, adored being a grandpa. He also enjoyed being outdoors playing and coaching hockey, fishing, and hunting. Lee truly was a one of a kind.
Surviving are his long time love and best friend, Renaie “Hopper” Kolbe and her children, Kaitlyn Kolbe, Zachary (Annalise) Kolbe, his grandchildren, Hudson and Aniyah Kolbe, Caleb Nielson, his father and step-mother, LeRoy (Sandy) LaJeunesse; his mother and step-father, Patricia (James) Pence; his sister, Nadine LaJeunesse; brother-in-law, Rock (Jeri) Modlin; his aunt’s Beverly, Renee and Michele; nieces and nephews, Karlea, Allegra, Dane, Eric, Joe, Chris and Justin; his step-siblings, Randy, Robin, Terrye, Jim and Pamela; several cousins. Lee was preceded in death by his grandparents; his uncle, Dean LaJeunesse; and his step-brother, Jerry Wells.
Private Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 29, 2020. Pastor Don Dinninger will officiate. In accordance with State mandated ordinances the limitations of the number gathered and safe distancing will be observed. For those that wish to attend remotely, the service will be live streamed beginning at 12:55 p.m. at http://client.tribucast.com/tcid/36715335.
Lee had a longtime vision of repopulating the trees in his back yard. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family for planting of trees in Lee’s honor or Old Town Christian Outreach Center, 600 Gratiot Rd.
