Melvin G. Gatrell
Of Benzie Co., 70, died Wednesday Oct 6, 2010 at Munson Medical Center. He was born in Elberta on June 15, 1940 the son of the late Lloyd and Luella Gatrell . Melvin married Verona W. Pace on July 24, 1958.
Melvin was an outdoorsman he was either watching the deer and birds in his yard, bear hunting with his hounds or fishing with his sons. He enjoyed the company of his good friend, Harold LaFluer, traveling, card games and going to the Casinos.
He is survived by his wife, Verona, children, Shirley (Larry) Blanchard, Patricia (Duane) Wallace, Veranda (Paul) Hawkins, Don, Tammy, Lonny (Ann) and Mark (Susie) Gatrell; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephew, Ron Powers along with several more nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter Andrea and son-in-law, Dennis Clairmont; brothers, Grant and Darwin; sister, Waiva and mother and father in law, Vera Pace and Jessie; grandson, William; nephew, Allen Lee
A graveside service will be held at 1PM Sunday Oct 10 at Gilmore Twp. Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Stieve officiating. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service.
