LILA ”PEARL” HERNER, age 88, of Cocoa, Florida died Monday, March 4, 2019. A celebration of life will be held April 6, at 11:00AM at Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Alan Duce officiating.
Pearl was born on July 21, 1930 in Grand Blanc, MI, the daughter of Harold and Lillian Jensen. “Pearl” as she was always known, came into this world as 1 of 5 siblings. She grew up in the Grand Blanc school system, and was employed by GM, and ultimately retired from AC Spark Plug. Pearl moved to Florida after the death of her beloved husband, Ray Herner. She settled into the Lost Lakes Community of Cocoa, Florida, where she soon became known as the “go to lady”, helping in any capacity and always with a happy smile! Pearl was a life long bowler in the Flint area, and then became a golfer late in life.
Surviving are her daughters; Linda Cromwell (Flint, MI), Donna (Marty) Modrak (Flint, MI), Cheryl (Ken) Thayer (Viera, FL), step sons Wayne (Lisa) Herner (Louisville, KY), and Larry Scaggs (Louisville, KY), sister’s in law, Virginia Jensen (Flint, MI) and Della Jensen (Cocoa, FL). She was a proud grandmother of 12 grand children, and 11 greatgrandchildren. Pearl had many beloved nieces and nephews in Florida and Michigan. Pearl was preceded in death by parents Harold and Lillian Jensen, brothers, Darwin, James (Jimmy John), Robert and Harold, and sister, Irene Buerger |
