ANDERSON, Robert - of Burton, age 66, passed away August 24, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci celebrant. Burial, with Military Honors will follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Tuesday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Robert was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on September 16, 1946, son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Gross) Anderson. He married Gail Carnell on November 15, 1986, she survives him. Robert proudly served his county with the U.S Navy in 1963 and served during the Vietnam War from 1964-1967. He later served with the National Guard from 1974-1986. He worked for General Motors in many capacities, retiring in 2003.
Robert is survived by his wife, Gail Anderson; three sons, Brett, Dennis and Robert; son of the heart, Daniel Jones; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Diane (Richard) Wilson, Richard (Marsha) Anderson, David (Ellen) Anderson; mother of this children, Janet Jones. He is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kim Anderson on December 19, 2012.
