MASER, John William Phillip, Jr. - Age 81, of Linden, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, June 9, 2014 at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 14176 Fenton Road, Fenton. Dr. Mark Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Transfiguration Lutheran Church or Hospice Advantage, 1309 S. Linden Road, Flint, MI 48532.
John was born August 3, 1932 in Flint the son of John, Sr. and Anna (Dietrich) Maser. He married Marian L. Schneider July 7, 1951 in Fenton. He retired in 1993 from GM Fisher Body Grand Blanc after 42 years of service. John also owned and operated Marian Ceramics, ran Maser Excavating, and was a farmer for many years. He was a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church. He also was a member of the U.A.W. Local #1292, past president of the Lake Fenton Kiwanis and the Michigan Crafter Association. John was a Cub Master for Lake Fenton Pack #158 for 8 years, Chief umpire for Lake Fenton Little League, and served on the Board of Review for Fenton Township. He also enjoyed attending the Fenton Township board meeting.
Surviving are: his wife of 62 years, Marian; 4 children, John and wife Paula Maser of Fenton, Pamela and husband Bill Baird of Swartz Creek, Daniel Maser of Linden, and Robert Maser and Connie Stevens of Burton; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his Parents; daughter, Linda Maser; son, Robert Maser; and grandson, Chad Baird. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
