NOYCE, Michael Joseph – of Flint, MI, age 50, a man of faith and family, beloved husband to Nanette and father to Mitchell and Mallory, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 29, 2017. A Celebration of Mike’s life and faith will begin at 11 AM Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at East Flint Church of the Nazarene, 3515 North Belsay Road, Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Jason Crum, Rev. Dr. Steven Buck and Rev. Ronald Sharpe co-officiating. Per Mike’s wishes, cremation will take place following the service. His final resting place will be Koehler Township Cemetery in Indian River, MI. The family will receive visitors 3-8 PM Monday, May 1, 2017 and 11 AM-8 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at East Flint Church of the Nazarene. Michael had a lifelong love of learning that he shared with Mitchell and Mallory. He spent many nights at the kitchen table working on projects and homework with Mitch and Mallory and their friends. He always encouraged young people to finish their education. Inspired by the Piper Family, Mike established a fund named the M.J. Noyce Family Scholarship. Beginning with spring 2018, a Kearsley High School Senior who excels in mathematics, will receive a $1000 award. In lieu of flowers, Mike and his family have requested that memorial contributions be given and made payable to the M.J. Noyce Family Scholarship.

Mike was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, MI on November 9, 1966, son of the late Donald Lee and Helen Mary (Galvas) Noyce. He attended Kearsley Community Schools from Kindergarten-12th grade and graduated with honors in 1984. After studying Electrical Engineering for 3 years at DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL, Mike moved home to Flint, MI to be a part of his brother, Larry’s ceramic tile business. Larry and Mike worked together at Precision Ceramic Tile for over 20 years. Mike then continued his career as a Construction Administrator with THA Architects Engineers and Eastern Asphalt. He enjoyed the challenges, problem solving, diplomacy and relationships that he built in his 30 years of construction in the Genesee County area. Mike married Nanette Elizabeth Parrott on May 12, 1990 at Indian River United Methodist Church in Indian River, MI. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a member of the East Flint Church of the Nazarene. Mike was an amazing husband and father and he found great joy in watching and playing tennis with Mitchell, watching Mallory dance, and daily Mensa puzzles. Some of his most special memories were made with his family and the times they spent at Burt Lake. Mike was a devoted University of Michigan football fan and he enjoyed playing golf with family and friends.


Mike is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Nanette; his son Mitchell Joseph age 23, his daughter Mallory Joann age 20. Mike was the youngest of nine children; Larry (Kim) Noyce, Gary (Kathy) Noyce, Dianne (Jim) Miller, Jackie (Mark) Hauck, Theresa (Alan) Cory, Sharon (Kurt) Zafiroff, Karen (Rocky) Dunn, Matt (Carole) Noyce and Gail (Mark) Dexter. In-laws, Norman Parrott, Linda (Art) Burger, Thurston (Jodi) Moen and Holly (Joel) Fett. Mike has many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, along with his wife’s family and special friends, Danielle Struck, Steven Prine and William Piper. His parents, Donald and Helen Noyce and his longtime friend Danno Stephenson preceded Mike in death. The family would like to thank Allen Funeral Home, Heartland Hospice, The University of Michigan Cancer Center Staff, East Flint Church of the Nazarene, Court Street United Methodist Church, Rev. Jason Crum, Rev. Dr. Steven Buck, Rob, Heather, Meara and Aidan Miller, Cheryl Tuttle and all of the amazing members of #teammike.
