Layton-Martin III, Mr. Phillip E. age-32 passed away Friday January 13, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday January 27, 2017 from The Salvation Army Corps., Community Center 1475 W. Coldwater Rd., Dr. Verice Barbee officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery G-4413 Flushing Rd. Family and friends will assemble at the church 10am for visitation. Mr. Layton-Martin III now repose in the Chapel of the Martin J. Banks Funeral Home Inc. and maybe viewed 9am until 6pm Thursday.
Mr. Phillip Edward Layton-Martin III was born November 17, 1984 in Flint, Mi the son of Janeen Layton-Lewis and Phillip E. Martin, Jr. He was employed by Webcore on Center Rd., March Coatings Inc., and Ashley Court both in Brighton, Mi. He liked basketball, football, music, watching movies, reading his bible from time to time and his most joy was spending time with 3 children and his family. Phillip was a very kind, generous, caring, intelligent and devoted father, son, brother, cousin and friend.
He enjoyed helping people no matter who they were. He would give his last and didn’t like seeing people hurt, if he could help he would. Phillip felt that we all should just get along and love one another no matter what and forgive each other and with friends be real to the end.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughter Natasha Layton, 2 sons Phillip J. Layton and E’Marion D. Layton all of Flint, Mi., mother Janeen (Jimmie) Layton-Lewis, father Phillip E. Martin, Jr., 3 sisters Timia (Melvin) G. Layton-Covington, Leakita Martin and Tanika Hinkle, special sister Felicia Arrington, 2 brothers, Philandis E. Crutcher all of Flint, Mi., Terrence Lewis of Detroit, Mi. Special brother Quell, grandparents Katie Martin and Nancy Crutcher, 4 aunts, Annice (David) Willis, Dr. Verice (RaJay) Layton-Barbee, Viola Dugans and Yolanda Martin, uncles, Thomas Ridley and Kevin Crutcher, 3 nieces. Le’Rica White, Kendra Britt and Armani Baskin, nephews, Terrell Brown, Jr. Tamazz Layton-White, Jacob Martin, Jordan, Kareem, and Cameron Hinkle, Jarquise Hightower Jacob Martin, Badjie mother-in-law Carolyn (Larry Elliott) Keys, sister-in-law, Egypt Day-Cox. A host of cousins other relatives and friends including fiancé’ Enydia Day-Cox, cousins Ray-Ray, Desi, Curtina, Josh, Stacey, Steven, Lee-Lee, Rosetta, Deitria, Donitra, Courtney, Shonda, Rell, “Lil Tommie”, Laron, Latoya, “Lil David”, Veronica, Kamilyan, David and Demond, special friends Aunt Cynthia, Aunt Deborah, D.J., Nay-Nay, Jeff Flick, Rena Smith, Demetris Crutcher, Daniel Eddy, Resse, D. Scott, C. J., T.D., Brandon, Taypo. He was preceded in death by his sister, Veronica Nathan, grandparents Verice and L.C. Layton, Phillip E. Martin, Sr., Aunt Betty Layton, uncles, James and Sims Layton, cousin C.L.Layton and friend J. Jones.
