FOSTER, Gloria Evelyn (Nelson) (Rogers) - Of Grand Blanc, age 80, died Friday, January 4, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Marc Cavett officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to an organization of one’s choice.
Visitation 5-8pm Sunday, 12-8pm Monday and 11am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gloria was born in Lupton, Michigan on September 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Magnus and Alfia Nelson. Gloria married Lloyd “Bud” Rogers on July 24, 1954 in Angola, Indiana and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1996. She graduated from West Branch High School. Gloria was a member of Flint Baptist Temple and former member of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, camping and spending time with her family.
Surviving are husband, Leonard;
children, Allen and wife Vickie Rogers of Davison, Larry and wife Jackie Rogers of Flint, Brenda and husband Barry Woods of Grand Blanc and Thailand, Lynn and husband Marc Cavett of Swartz Creek;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews;
brother, Magnus and wife Elva Nelson of West Branch;
sisters-in-law, Peggy Nelson of West Branch, Wanda and husband Gene Ford of Flint, Patricia Nelson of Traverse City, Joyce Churches of Grand Blanc, Jean Robinson of Zephyrhills, FL;
and brother-in-law, Harry Baird of Flint.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, brothers, Nels, Linburg, Hilding Nelson, sisters, Hulda Griffith and Clara Fedewa.
