HOFFMEYER, Deven Michael– age 21, passed away October 14, 2018 at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6336 Roberta St., Burton; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Thursday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to cdkl5.com.
Deven was born in Flint, MI on January 18, 1997. He was diagnosed at age 11 with cdkl5 that causes developmental delays, seizures and other issues. He was a strong fighter, right up to his last breath. Deven attended Marion Crouse Instructional Center for many years, before becoming a homebound student in 2010.
Deven is survived by his parents, Richard and Michelle Hoffmeyer; quadruplet brothers, Trent (Sara), Trevor and Dustin; grandfather, Bill Nicolai; aunts and uncles, Cindy Lake, Bill (Debbie) Nicolai, Chuck (Crystal) Nicolai, Dominic (Molly) Nicolai and Anne (Robert) Ptaszenski; nephew to come in December, Carter Edwin; many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arvin and Betty Hoffmeyer, Pearl Nicolai. A special thank you to the Marion Crouse Instructional Center staff for their love, care and support, especially his teachers Carrie, Sally, Mistine and Nicole through the years.
