CARR, Roy A. – Of Romeo, formerly of Flint and Harrison, age 78, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at William Beaumont Hospital-Troy.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Roy was born in Ionia, Michigan on March 30, 1935, the son of Edward G. and Rose (Green) Carr and was a formerly resident of Flint and Harrison.
He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Flint.
He enjoyed fishing, family, a good joke, laughing and the Detroit Tigers.
Mr. Carr retired from Parts & Service at GM in 1986, after 31 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659.
Surviving are his children, Kim Boursaw (Donald) Szymanski,
Rhonda Manning and Paul Carr;
five grandchildren;
nine great-grandchildren and
sister, Esther Kimbrough.
