Bitterman, June Marie of Flushing, age 94, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at Flushing Presbyterian Church. Pastor Paul Pfeuffer will officiate. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the service at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Flushing Presbyterian Church.
June was born in New Lothrop, Michigan on September 24, 1930, the daughter of Loren and Lusetta (Gifford) Sears. She was a graduate of Montrose High School. June married Leonard Bitterman on August 3, 1950, in Angola, Indiana. June was employed by Flushing Community Schools for 22 years, working in food service, retiring in 1990. After retirement, June learned to play golf and together with her husband, they enjoyed spending winters in Bowling Green, Florida and golfing together. She was a faithful member of St. Robert Catholic church for over 60 years, where she was a member of the Altar Society and helped with funeral dinners. She was also a member of Flushing Senior Center. June enjoyed playing cards with her card clubs. Her family was her greatest joy.
June is survived by her children, Wayne and wife Deborah Bitterman, Diane and husband Greg Garbulinski, Lynn Bitterman, Michael Bitterman, Christopher and wife Dawn Bitterman; daughter-in-law, Bette Forsee; grandchildren, Stormy, Jason, Rainy, Jeremy, Kasie, Cody, J. Benjamin, Jon; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard in 2005; sons, Gary and Craig Bitterman; and grandchildren, Jennifer and Jackson. |
