LOCKHART, Jerry L. – Of Swartz Creek, age 66, died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jerry was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on August 12, 1950, the son of Howard and Pansy Lockhart.
He married Nancy in 1993.
He enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1954 Oldsmobile 98.
He was a life member and Quarter Master of VFW Post #822.
Jerry was employed by GM V-8 Engine Plant for 32 years.
Surviving are wife, Nancy Lockhart;
brothers, Marvin (Linda) Lockhart of Grand Blanc,
Howard Denny (Beulah) Lockhart of Lexington, Kentucky,
Mike (Denise) Lockhart of Gaines, MI;
sisters, Ruth Ackerman of Joplin, Missouri,
Sue Lockhart of Flint,
Jeannie Lockhart of Burton;
mother-in-law, Janet Taylor;
father-in-law, Howard (Gertrude) Burgess.
Jerry had a heart of gold, loved helping others and loved all animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John (Mickey)Lockhart and Virgil Wayne Lockhart.
