PHELPS, James A. – Of Flushing, age 96, died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at The Landings of Genesee Valley.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Chevrolet Motor Post #3087 Honor Guard.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
James was born in New Springfield, Ohio on March 29, 1922, the son of the late Robert and Elida (Erickson) Phelps.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are wife, Ruth, of 75 years;
daughters, Karen (Ned) Weller,
Linda (Bill) Hoose and
Debra (Alex) Borowiak;
grandchildren, Tiffinay (George) Spears,
Alese (Darin) Evon,
Jason (Noel) Hoose,
Jamie Borowiak and Allison Borowiak;
great-grandchildren, Addison Evon, Courtney Hoose, Taylor Evon, Kelcie Hoose and Corinna Hoose.
