Marshall L. Dodge, age 73, of Lake, passed away on Monday, June 12, at Mclaren Central Michigan hospital in Mt. Pleasant. He was on Dec. 30, 1943 in Flint, after high school he served in the US armed Forces from 1963 to 1966. He married the former Gwen Beeler on March 30, 1994. Marshall had retired as a splicer with Michigan Bell telephone and later Ameritech/AT&T in the Pontiac area. He moved to his home in Lake from Orion, Michigan in 2000. Unable to sit still in his retirement, he went to work as a Pluming Department sales associate at Home Depot in Mt. Pleasant.
Marshall is survived by his wife, Gwen, his children, Trevor Dodge, Debra Geldhof, and Crystal Bettingham, his step-children, Kim Calvert and Brad McConnell, Several grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his brother, Ron Dodge. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Dodge.
A scripture Vigil Service will be held on Thursday, June 15, at 2:00 PM at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, 165 S. Hall St., Farwell, Mi., 48622. Friends are invited to meet with his family at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon to 2 PM. Memorials may be made to: Toni and Trish Hospice House in Auburn, Michigan.
