MACKOS, Lawrence M. – Of Flint, age 83, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Victoria's House.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Ron Anderson officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mackos will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass.
Lawrence was born in Flint, Michigan on May 8, 1933 and was a resident of Flint all of his life.
He graduated from Sacred Heart in 1952.
Mr. Mackos worked at Flint Toy and Athletic on Third Avenue and Buick.
Mr. Mackos served in the U.S. Army from July 9, 1953 to 1955.
He returned to Buick and then entered Barber College and was a barber for 20 years.
He was employed by Chevrolet V-8 from 1977 and retired in 1993.
He liked sports, especially baseball and golf.
Surviving are daughter, Susann Haskal;
sister, Patricia Klein; nieces and nephews;
best friend, Barbara Joan Williston.
He was preceded in death by parents, Michael G. and Margaret E. Mackos; sister, Donna Jenkins and brother, Matthew Mackos.
