SHEGOS, Raymond Stanley - age 85, of Fenton, died Thursday, November 16, 2018 surrounded by his family. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Fr. Ryan Riley celebrant. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Tuesday night. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Wednesday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapuchin Soup Kitchen (https://www.cskdetroit.org). Raymond was born February 13, 1933 in Flint, the son of Stanley and Marie (Kapture) Shegos. He graduated from the first graduating class of Sacred Heart High School in 1951 and was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. Raymond married Therese Zyber on August 25, 1956. He attended 2 years at Flint Junior College and then graduated from University of Michigan Dental School in 1957. Raymond started his dentistry practice in Mount Morris where he practiced until his retirement in 2015. He was a True Blue University of Michigan fan - Football, Basketball, and Hockey. He was a season ticket holder for many years until he started following his grandchildren's sporting events. Raymond was a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Society, Charter member of University of Michigan "VICTORS" club and the President's Club. He had served as President of the Flint University of Michigan Club. Raymond enjoyed trips to Europe especially Italy and France, annual fishing trips to Canada with his sons and grandsons and following his grandchildren's sporting events from grade school to college. Surviving are: wife, Therese Shegos of Fenton; five children, Susan (Dewey) Gilbert of Rhinelander, WI, Scott (Sheila) Shegos of Santa Barbara, CA, Thaddeus (Kellie) Shegos of Fenton, Camille (Mark) Harris of Clarendon Hills, IL, and Emilie (Mark) Mecklenborg of Commerce Twp.; 16 grandchildren, Andrew, Christopher, Jacob, Wesleigh, Clayton, Andrew (Angela), Whitney, Zachary, Jack, Joshua, Thaddeus, Jr., Cameron, Mitchell, Madison, Stephanie, and Andrew; brother, Robert Shegos; sister, Constance Wilberding.
