Strain, Robert Daniel - Age 80 of Swartz Creek passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 22, 2017. Memorial Service will be held 1PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene 7168 Morrish Rd. Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Schultz officiating. A luncheon will be followed at the church. Those desiring may be made on Bob's behalf to the family. Bob was born in Newport, Kentucky on June 26, 1937 to Melvin and Florence Strain. He Married the love his life Jean in 1981 and they enjoyed 36 years together. They enjoyed traveling and he devoted much of his time to his grandkids. He was fire chief of Fenton Township Fire Department for years and also devoted many years as a volunteer with the metro policy authority, serving Mundy Township. He worked events such as the Crim, Back to the Bricks and Shop with a Cop. He retired from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals after 43 years and also worked with Astra Zenica. He worked at the Swartz Creek Meijers as a greeter for a few years and was presently working as a biology/chemistry tutor at Carman Ainsworth High School. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and recently great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Jean; daughter, Lisa; son, Brian; granddaughters, Megan and husband Ben, Jamie and husband Matt, Brianna and Kayla; special grandson, Cody and his great grandson, Davis.
