Letterman, Joyce A. – of Birch Run, age 90, died Monday, October 14, 2019, at Brian's House of Essexville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Joyce at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 18, 2019, at Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin will officiate. Burial to follow in Birch Run Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Thursday from 2-8 PM and at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of mass at 11. Memorial contributions may be made to Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church or Brian’s House in Essexville.
Joyce was born in Saginaw on December 22, 1928, to the late Gervase and Norma (Naylor) Brennan. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Saginaw in 1946. Joyce married Richard Letterman on June 27, 1950 and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage. She resided in Birch Run the past 70 years. She was a member of Saints Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Joyce was also a longtime member of the Saginaw County Farm Bureau. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and traveling.
Surviving are: Husband, Richard; 6 children: Richard (Laura) Letterman III, Kathleen (Steve) Sawyer, Gail (Sam) Basner, Jim Letterman, Ann (David) Lapak, and Ray (Annette) Letterman – all of Birch Run; 10 grandchildren: Matt (Jill) Letterman, Kelly (Jay) Janiski, Amanda (Jeff) Lenhart, Michelle Sawyer (Allan Wearn), Nicole (Dan) Norton, Ann Basner (Brian Melchers), Sonja Lapak, Andrew Lapak (Michelle Marolf), Larissa Lapak, and Riley Letterman; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
