Vito (Bill) Lotito age 93 of New Ulm, MN, formerly of Flint died Friday July 8, 2011 at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield MN. Funeral Service 10AM, Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St., Flint, MI. Rev Fr A. Santhiyagu MSFS, officiating
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery
The family will receive friends from 3PM to 7PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Military Order of the Purple Heart or DAV, PO Box 248, New Ulm, MN 56073 or St. Michael Roman Catholic Church.
Bill was born May 10, 1918 in Lyons, NY and came to Flint in 1936. He lived in Flint until 2001 moving to Appleton, WI and spending his last 9 years in New Ulm, MN.
He served as Staff Sgt. in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater and received the Purple Heart for injuries received in Okinawa
He was also a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church and served on various committees at the church.
Mr. Lotito retired from Hamady Brothers Grocery Store in 1983 as a warehouse foreman after 42 years of service.
He is survived by his son Larry (Kathy) Lotito of New Ulm, MN
Daughter Pat Schaeffer (Don) of Bath, Maine
6 Grandchildren Laura (Jeremy) Rowe, Mark Lotito, Rachel (Michael) Traudt,
Karen (Scott) Sinn, Paul Lotito and Amy Lotito
5 Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Lucille (Gauthier) Lotito, Parents Massimmo (George) and Frances Lotito 4 Sisters Teresa Lotito, Nancy Loranger, Mary Tankersley and Rose Massey Brother Dan Lotto Arrangements by Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
