DOROW, Betty Marie (Delling) – of Davison, age 88, passed away January 6, 2012 at Ferguson Convalescent Home. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd., Flint. Pastor Gary L. Beck officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Betty was born in Flint, MI on January 14, 1923, daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Margaret (White) Delling. She married Howard A. Dorow on March 6, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1995. Betty was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Betty always had busy hands either knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading, doing crossword puzzles or cooking. Our beloved mother and grandmother is now in the arms of our LORD. In our sorrow, we still rejoice because we know she has gone to that city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God (Heb 11:70). We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure (Heb 6:19).
Betty is survived by her son, Thomas (Joyce) Dorow; daughter, Janice (Thomas) Schimmele; son, Timothy (Kimberly) Dorow; grandchildren, Rebecca Dorow, Geoffrey Thomas (Meredith) Dorow, Ryan Schimmele, Nicholas Schimmele, Geoffrey Michael (Kate) Schimmele, Ashley (Dennis) O’Donnell, Rory (Sarah) Dorow; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Dorow; sisters, Marion Babcock, Linda Pretzler; brothers, Ronald (Elizabeth) Delling, Jack Delling, Daniel Delling; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Morgan; brothers, Charles Delling, Jr., Andrew Delling; sister Geraldine Besson. We would like to say thank you to Ferguson Convalescent Home in Lapeer and express our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful care, love and dignity that they have demonstrated toward our sweet mother and to our family during her stay there.
