BARCEY, Paul William – of Lapeer, MI, age 81, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Carl Simon celebrant. Interment, with Military Honors, in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Sharing of Memories will be held 7 PM Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home.
Paul was born in Flint, MI on February 12, 1936, son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Martin) Barcey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959. Paul married Sharon Borton on August 1, 1959 and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2015. He retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service. Paul was an avid golfer who loved iced tea, ice cream and his friends from Alcoholics Anonymous.
Paul is survived by 4 children, Matt (Jodi) Barcey, Mike (Cindi) Barcey, Michon (Scott) Periso and Mark (Deanna) Barcey; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Susan Barcey.
