JAMES ROBERT SMITH, age 76, went to be with his Savior on September 21, 2019. His funeral service will be 11AM Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Smith Hill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Jim was born in Spring Arbor, MI to the late Robert C. and Helen G. (Sanders) Smith. He married the love of his life, Donna, on September 29, 1962 and together they had 3 children, Angela (Mark) McConnaughhay, James Smith II, and Juli (Larry) Forsyth; granddaughter, Jessica and grandson, Kyle. Jim enjoyed Nascar and any other racing he could find. He was a long time member of UAW Local 651, but retired in Wentzville, MO, Local 2250. He was a member of International FOE, American Legion Post 64 in Flint, and MMANA of Clio. He attended the Otter Lake Church of the Nazarene. Jim is survived by his wife and children; sisters: Juritta (James) Laurel, Jenice, and Susie (Rick) Peterson; special extended grandchildren: Jake & Oliver Smith and Kane & Irene Pyonk. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous other family members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Otter Lake Church of the Nazarene. |
