SHIECK, Martha Ann, age 101, of Flushing, passed away, Thursday May 10, 2012 at Homewood Village, Flint. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, May 14 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 402 S. Ballanger, Flint. Pastor Steve Maske officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint. Visitation will be held 2:00PM to 8:00PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and 10:00AM until time of service at the church. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund. Martha was born July 10, 1910 in Hamler Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Sophia (Meyer) Lindhorst. She married Ralph Shieck on August 31, 1933, in Rhodes MI., he preceded her in death December 29, 1991. As a child Martha worked on the family farm in Rhodes, MI. All of her life Martha remained extremely independent and hard working. Martha enjoyed bowling, bingo and playing cards. She has been a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1931. Martha loved spending time with her family, she is survived by her son, Gordon W. (Adrienne) Shieck of Sun City West AZ; daughter, Eleanor (Sid) Struble of Flushing; grandchildren, Victoria Shieck, Valerie (Tim) Machain, Jennifer Shieck, Cheryl Struble-Frelow, Linda (Dennis) Hennells; 3 great-grandchildren, Alex Machain, Taylor Machain and Amanda Hennells; sister, Emma Heathfield of Midland; several nieces and nephews.
