ASELTINE, James Richard – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019. A Celebration of Jim’s life with a buffet dinner will be held 4-8 PM Sunday, June 23, 2019 at MD’s Sport’s Tavern and Grill, 3040 North State Road, Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hadley Township Historical Society, P.O. Box 20, Hadley, MI 48440.
Jim was born in Flint, MI on November 17, 1930, son of the late Harold and Mary (Baker) Aseltine. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jim married Faith Ann Foley on September 17, 1955 and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2016. He was the owner and operator of Flint Centerless Grinding, Inc. from 1956-1995. Jim was a member of numerous organizations including, Michigan Trail Riders Association (MTRA) member #071 since 1970, Buick Club, Eastern Michigan Collectors Club and Seven Ponds Nature Center. He was also a maple syrup producer for over 40 years and an avid car collector.
Jim is survived by 2 children, Brian (Leesha) Aseltine and Janet (Tom) Allen; 6 grandchildren, Jacob (Kate) Aseltine, Katelyn Aseltine, Mike (Christie) Mroz, Jasmin (Christopher) Everson, Ashley (Matt) Miller and Laura Allen; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jeanne (Bob) Wettergren; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Allen.
