Ploucha, Mary Lucille of Flushing, age 81, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at Durand Senior Care Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday at Rossell Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mary Lu was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 1, 1933, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Bux) Wagar. She married Albert Ploucha on May 8, 1954, in Flint. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2014. Mary Lu was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing and Mott Community College and had worked as a Registered Nurse. She was an active member at St. Robert Catholic Church. Mary Lu was an accomplished pianist and loved music. She loved chocolate, but the greatest joys of her life were her children and grandchildren. Mary Lu enjoyed going camping and traveling. She did many crafts including, ceramics, sewing and knitting.
Mary Lu is survived by her children, Katherine and husband Kenneth Nerreter, Laura and husband Morris Richards, Michael and wife Kam Ploucha, Mark Ploucha, Cynthia and husband Timothy Norko, David and wife Marianne Ploucha; grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Rebekah, Christopher, Hannah, Molly, Vincent, Miles, Sam, Jack; three very anticipated great-granddaughters.
