Alexander G. Pallagi
Grand Blanc - In God's perfect time and with family at his side, Alex Pallagi, 78, peacefully left this world to be with the Lord on Thursday October 27, 2011. Alex was born on Feb. 24, 1933 to Mary and Frank Pallagi. Alex graduated from Northern High School in 1951 and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Alex worked at AC Spark Plug as a supervisor retiring in 1988 after 38 years. Alex met the love of his life, Marie in 1951 and they were married in 1953. They spent 58 years together, traveling, playing cards and living life to the fullest with their four beautiful children, grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Alex was a wonderful son-in-law and brother-in-law to the entire Boyer family. He fought a courageous battle for the last year and a half and is now free of pain and at peace. He was a second father to many of his sister in laws, nieces and nephews, always there when needed.
On his journey thru life, it was of the utmost importance to Al to bring goodies, treats and whatever he could think of that would bring a smile to someone’s face or make their life a little better. When vacationing in Florida, his mother in law Leona was unable to travel so he found a home for them in St. Augustine. While taking his sister in law Bonnie for cancer treatment, he found the place where he and Marie would spend their winters, Tucson, Az., which they fell in love with.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Frank Pallagi, Leona & Orville Boyer, granddaughter Jennifer Pallagi, brother and sister-in-laws Bonnie & Burt Stocker, Allen Boyer, Saundra Boyer and nephew Douglas Walker.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Marie (Boyer), sons Terry (Kelly) Pallagi, Shawn (Jayme) Pallagi, Daniel (Renee’) Pallagi, and daughter Lisa (Rick) Arnott; 11 grandchildren, Jaclyn, Nicole, Amanda, Chris, Tyler, Faith, Tori, Emilie, Angie, Alaine and Rachael as well as brother and sister-in-laws: Sue Boyer, Terrance and Joan Boyer, Gerald Boyer, Leon and Joan Boyer, Theresa and Tony Walker,
Armand and Rosemary Boyer, Sharon Guza, Nancy Boyer, Suzanne and Gerald Hutto and many other family members.
He will be missed by long-time family friends, Dick and Mary Determan, Joan and Larry Turner, Coleman and Sharon Williams and Tom and Jane Cannon, John Koszegi, as well as many special friends in Michigan and Arizona. Al left a lasting impression with everyone he met. Life as we knew it will never be the same without our “Big Al”!
The family would like to thank the outstanding and caring Staff of Genesys Hospital!
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest donations to the Luke M. Powers Building Fund.
Family will be receiving friends and relatives on Saturday October 29, 2011 from 5 – 8pm, Sunday October 30, 2011 from 1-3pm with Rosary at 6pm, at Hill Funeral Home 11723 S Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI..
