Ellen Marie Terry
Age 79 of New Lothrop passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove with Father John Cotter officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel on Monday, April 30 from 2:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary prayed at 7:00pm, and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the service.
Ellen was born on April 29, 1938 to Maurice F. and Mary V. (Yaklin) Gross in Owosso. She married Robert Taylor in 1958; they celebrated 10 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 1968. She then married Melvin Terry in 1985; they celebrated 28 years of marriage before he predeceased her in 2013.
Ellen spent her life as a loving homemaker. She loved being with her family whether hosting family get-togethers, taking trips to the casino, or cheering for her grandchildren at their sporting events. She was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. Ellen was a member of St. Michael's Church of Maple Grove.
Ellen is survived by her children, Kimberly (Patrick) Praski, Robert (Shelly) Taylor, Randall (Debra) Taylor, Deborah (James) Krupp, and Kristen (Keith) Vrable; her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Ann (Ronald) Laux, Joyce (Vince) Birchmeier, James (Vickie) Gross, Linda (Stanley) Kuchar, Karen (William) Mahoney, and Douglas and Barbara Taylor; her sisters-in-law, Sharon Gross and Rose Gross; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Robert; her second husband, Melvin; and her brothers, Thomas and Richard.
