Mr. Klenk 80 passed away Thursday August 24, 2017 at his home with his family at his side following long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 31, 2017 at 11 am from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL 207 N. Forest St. Standish, Michigan with Past James Payne presiding. Visitation at the funeral chapel will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday 12 to 8 pm and Thursday 10am until time of services. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery, Sterling next to his parents with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 104 and the U. S. Air Force.
Oscar was born in Standish on November 8, 1936, the second of six sons of Oscar F. & Margaret (LaClair) Klenk. Upon graduating in 1954 from Sterling High School where he served four years as class president, he served in the United States Air Force four years, Air Force Reserves four years and worked at Iva Chicken Dinners for ten years. He retired in 1992 from General Motors Grand Blanc Cadillac Plant after 28 1/2 years of service. Oscar was a longtime member of Flint Industrial Executive Club, a member of the American Legion Post 104 since 1977 and a life member of the NRA. He loved traveling, deer hunting, riding his motorcycle and taking his 1946 Jeep to car shows where he won numerous trophies, parades and cruising in his Pontiac Solstice convertible. He also was an avid woodworker, Christmas Tree Farmer and gardener.
Surviving are his loving companion since 1998 Wanda Currie Mrohs, sons Oscar W., Christopher L., daughters Dee A. Klenk, Tracy P. Klenk (Alan Farmer) and Stacie K. Klenk; brothers Irwin KLenk, Edwin ( Sara) Klenk, Richard (Judy) Klenk, Robert (Joan) Klenk; grandchildren Jeremy and Jacob Marshall, Jessica Hensley; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his son Ty A. Klenk, brother Raymond H. Klenk, sisters in law Sue and Charlene Klenk, son in law Lee Blank and his parents Oscar F. and Margaret Klenk.
