Lozeau, Gloria Ann (Gregoire,Ward), age 85, died on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at McLaren Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Rossell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flint Community Players or a charity of your choice.
Gloria was born on September 21, 1930, in Worcester, MA to Ernest and Antionette (Helias) Gregoire. Second of four siblings, Gloria sang and performed for military troops during her teen-age years. On August 12, 1950, she married Dennis Winston Ward in Massachusetts and soon after, their first son, Dennis James was born. After they moved to Flint, Michigan, Dennis Sr.’s home town, daughter Denise Marie and son Robert William were born and completed the family. Gloria spent her time raising her children and working in the family shoe store, Ward’s Shoes. In the mid-sixties, the Ward family moved to Flushing where Gloria worked at Marshall’s Shoes and volunteered for the boy scouts. Gloria returned to Worcester where she met and married Arthur “Pete” Lozeau on November 24, 1976. They moved to Belchertown, MA and later to Bradenton, FLA and then settled in Flushing, MI in 2007. Gloria enjoyed following political debates, reading about family history and going to local musical presentations.
Her memory will be cherished by son, Robert (Jane) Ward of Swartz Creek, MI, and stepson, Michael (Alex) Lozeau of Lake Worth, FL. Forever known as “Grams”, she will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Ryan (Sheryl) Anderson of Oxford, MA, Nichole Allison of Swartz Creek, MI, Keith (Laura) Anderson of Auburn, MA, Zachary (Ashley) Ward of Waterford, MI, and Adrienne Dargis of Boca Raton, FL. She will always be affectionately remembered by her great-grandchildren, Justin Ward of Arlington, TX, Nathan McHolland- Ward of Euliss, TX, Brook Massicotte of Oxford, MA, Bryanna, Alyssa and Justine Anderson of Oxford, MA, Cole, Tyler and Zachary Anderson of Auburn, MA, Ava Allison of Swartz Creek, MI, and Domonick Dargis of Lakeworth, FL as G.G. She will be missed by sister, Marie Mongeau of Boylston, MA, brother, Ernie Gregoire of Auburn, MA, sister-in-law, Dot Pare of Dracut, MA, many nieces and nephews and special friend, Kathy Shepard. Proceeding her in death are husband, Pete Lozeau; son, Dennis James Ward; daughter, Denise Anderson; grandsons, Kevin Ward and Dennis Ward; brother, Ronald Gregoire; and parents, Ernest and Antionette Gregoire.
