DEYOUNG, Rev. Frederick C. - Of Gaines, formerly of Burton, age 83, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Jeffrey Glover officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park with military honors under the auspices of Flint Marine Corp League.
Visitation 3-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers. contributions may be made to the family.
Frederick was born in Crystal Township, Michigan on August 31, 1934. On June 6, 1982, he married Cheryl Lovern in Flint. He retired from the United States Navy after 30 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Cheryl;
children, Michael Thompson of Gaines, April and husband Mike Jaskiewicz of Gaines, Chelcie DeYoung and fiance, Nick Parks of Burton; and Justin DeYoung of Burton;
grandchildren, Michael and girlfriend Sarah, Natasha, Cameron, Sabrina and husband Dan, Jeremy and Samantha;
great-grandchildren, Mileena, Atheena and Jackson;
sister, Gloria DeYoung of Owosso;
brothers, Larry DeYoung of Florida, James DeYoung of Arizona and Jon DeYoung of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Austin and Vivian, brother, Richard, sister, Sue and stepson, Jeremy Carroll.
