MALIN, Eva Louise “Weezy” (McMillan) - Age 84, died at Stamford, CT on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, after a long illness.
She was born on March 5, 1928, to John and Edna McMillan and attended Grand Blanc Schools. She lived in Flint, MI and worked at AC Spark Plug until retiring in 1985, after 39 years of service.
Louise was a charter member of Faith United General Baptist Church, formerly Fenton Lawn General Baptist Church, where she actively served in numerous capacities. She will be fondly remembered as an avid sports fan and bowler.
She loved southern gospel, singing in the choir and her Michigan Wolverines.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and is survived by her four children (and their spouses); Patti and Dave Vernon of New Canaan, CT,
Tommy and Cathy Malin of Wilson, NC,
Marti and Randy Gibson of Wake Forest, NC,
Danny and Tracey Malin of Flushing.
Louise is also survived by her grandchildren, Trevor Vernon-Yates and his wife, Lechelle,
Dina and husband Brad Freeman,
Daniel Gibson,
Sarah Malin, Zane Gibson and Katie Pittman;
as well as three great-grandchildren, Jack Freeman, Sam Freeman and Damien (Malin) Freeman.
She is also survived by one sister, Ida Nelson; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at Faith United General Baptist Church, G-1116 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Steve Wood officiating. The family will be gathered for visitation at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the Memorial Service.
All friends and relatives are invited to join the family in celebrating her life.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith United General Baptist Church, G-1116 West Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507, with designation to the Mustard Seed Foundation of North Carolina.
