METCALF (SHUMAR, BRYSON, SULZ), Irene Marie – Of Flint, age 78, died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Bob Parker officiating.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family or Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Irene was born in Turtle Creek, PA on September 22, 1939, the daughter of Emery and Hilda (Harmuth)Shumar and was a resident of Flint.
She married Jack Bryson in Paragould, AK, James Sulz in Flint, and then Paul Lee Metcalf Sr. in 2006 in Flint.
Irene was a member of the Central Assembly Pentecostal Church of God for 30 years.
Surviving are her husband, Paul;
three children, Sandra (Shelly) Ryan,
Cathy Bryson and Ernest Bryson;
step-daughter, Melinda;
6 grandchildren and
6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elmer Shumar; sister, Eleanor Thornton and step-son, Paul Lee Metcalf, Jr.
