HIGDON, Gwendolyn L. - Of Goodrich, age 74, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
A Memorial Service will be held 3pm Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Doug Klein officiating. (not in newspaper)
Cremation has taken place and cremains will be interred at Evergreen Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one of the following, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Autism Society of Michigan or the Genesee County Humane Society.
Memorial Visitation 2-8pm Friday and 12 noon Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Gwendolyn was born in Detroit on August 7, 1938. On October 15, 1971, she married Richard Higdon in Davison. She was owner operator of Executive Farms, Inc. Gwendolyn was a board member of ASHAM. She was a MPYC youth advisor, and she had a lifetime membership to MSPB&O, and Gwendolyn was an avid animal lover. She was instrumental in the Flying M 4H Club. Gwendolyn thrived off the energy of youth and horses.
Surviving are husband, Richard;
children, Kim (Shelly) McArthur, Tracy McArthur, Kimberly (Charles) Thiel, Jane Story, Bryon Higdon, Wendy (Frank) Haw and Jodi Higdon;
brother, Jim Voth;
21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Higdon; parents; granddaughter, Jessica Story.
