BARD, Ralph L. – of Clio, age 83, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, February 15, 2016 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Pastor LuAnn Rourke officiating. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of service. A Masonic Memorial will be held at 7PM Sunday evening at the funeral home by the Vienna Lodge #205 F & AM. Contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
Ralph was born January 4, 1933 to the late Lewis B. and Merodine B. (Beach) Bard. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1951. Ralph married Phyllis C. Kelly November 11, 2006 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. Mr. Bard is a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired from AC in 1981 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #651. Ralph was also a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Vienna Masonic Lodge #205 F & AM and Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #283 where he was the Mason of the year in 2015. He enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Surviving are: Wife, Phyllis Bard of Clio; Children: Jeff (Laura) Bard of Rialto, CA, Greg (Virginia) Bard of Chino Hills, CA, Angela (Dave) Roberts of Virginia Beach, VA, Gisele (Dale) Wagner of Birch Run and Troy Hemstreet of Flint; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; Brothers: Gordon (Barbara) Bard and Jerry Matheson (Gloria); Sister in law, Colleen Bard; Many nieces and nephews.
