Esther B. Mooney, age 92 of Flint, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. She was born in Flint on February 16, 1926 to parents Henry and Amelia Lang, who were immigrants from Germany. Esther was a member of St. Mary’s Queen of Angels Church in Swartz Creek since 1966. In her earlier years she enjoyed traveling, and she always loved working in her flower garden and going shopping. Her greatest joy in life was loving and caring for her family, and for 30 years she was the sole caregiver to her son Bob. In her later years, her greatest joy was her great grandson Carter. Esther is survived by her children: Deborah Joncas, William Mooney, Michael (Elizabeth) Mooney; grandchildren: Noel (Aubrey Harris) Joncas, Christian (Emily Judd) Joncas, Barak Mooney, Miranda (Ricky) Charlton, Sean (Stacy) Mooney, and Ryan (Alec Clave) Mooney; seven great grandchildren; adopted daughter, Deborah Iaquinto. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Mooney; son, Robert Mooney; son-in-law, Laurier Joncas. The family would like to give special thanks to Edi, Melissa C., Melissa A., Brandy, and Tammy at Health Partners Home Care, and Dr. Alexander Rodriguez for their compassion and continuous care. A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Reigle Funeral Home, 5501 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI, Deacon Rodney Amon officiating.
