GOUDY, Irene E. – of Genesee Township, age 90, passed away January 5, 2015 at McLaren – Flint. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 PM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci celebrant. Burial will be in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and 11 AM until the time of the service on Friday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight, Inc., 300 E. Auburn Ave., Springfield, OH 45505 or www.honorflight.org/donate-now.
Irene was born in Fenton Township, MI on April 10, 1924, daughter of the late George and Pauline (Kovacs) Montin. She married Lloyd Goudy in Oklahoma City in March of 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1991. Irene belonged to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. While traveling around the world with her husband Lloyd, due to his career in the Air Force, Irene had the opportunity to live in Okinawa and France. She enjoyed boating and fishing on their boat “Why Knot” in Harbor Beach. Irene enjoyed gambling and playing cards, they called her “Grandma Vegas”. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a lifelong love of boxer dogs.
Irene is survived by her twin daughters, Sheran Parkhurst and Keran (Don) Walkowicz; grandchildren, Donald Lloyd Parkhurst, Scott (Jackie) Walkowicz, Kevin (Tracy) Walkowicz, Cheryl (Chris) Doggett; great-grandchildren, Michael Padilla, Austin Padilla, Alexa Walkowicz, Celia Walkowicz, Ryan Walkowicz, Hailey Walkowicz, Blake Doggett, Andrew (Carisa) Doggett, Michael Doggett, Shelley (Matt) Osborn; brothers-in-law, Jim Goudy and Frank Pavlica; sisters-in-law, Bessie Montin and Nancy Gibson; many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, John Michael Parkhurst; granddaughter, Pamela Padilla; many siblings.
