ELROD, Howard Jarle - Of Durand, age 80, died Thursday, January 14, 2016 in Cape Coral, Florida.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pastor Dan Louman officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.

Howard J. Elrod was born in Cullman County, Alabama on October 31, 1935 to Charlie and Mary Lou (Johnson) Elrod. He was a resident of Flint and Durand for most of his life. He enjoyed showing and driving classic cars. Howard was a drywall contractor for 50 years.
Surviving is wife, Beverly, of 57 years;
children, Renee (Paul) Hurley, Douglas Elrod and Christopher (Marie) Elrod;
6 grandchildren, Justin Hurley, A.J. Elrod, Jacob Elrod, Taylor Hurley, Andrew Elrod and Libby Elrod;
great-grandchild, Greyson Hurley;
sisters and brothers, Nellaree Woodruff, Jerita Cobb, Jerry Elrod and Dean Elrod;
and many nieces and nephews.
Howard was preceded in death by siblings, Herbert, Larry, Carolyn and Terry.
