Edward Leininger, 79, of Mt. Morris, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his residence. He was born on August 5, 1944, in Flint, to the late Harvey and Mary (Sopko) Leininger. Edward graduated from St Mary High School in Mt. Morris and dedicated over 30 years to General Motors before retiring. On August 28, 1965, he married his beloved wife, Karen, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage until her passing on April 29, 2023.
Edward was actively involved in the community, serving on the Clio City Planning Commission. He had a passion for motorcycles and cars. He was a long-time member of a biking club. Edward cherished spending time with his family and friends, known for his loving and caring nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Edward is forever remembered by his Son, John (Michelle) Leininger; Grandchildren: Ashely (David), Robert (Marissa), and Megan (Pierce); Great-Grandchildren: Liam, Karen, and Johnathon; Sister, Mary “Peggy” Leininger; Extended family members and wonderful friends. Edward was preceded in death by his beloved Wife, Karen Leininger; Parents, Harvey and Mary; Son, David Leininger.
A graveside service will be held at 1PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for future designation. |
