JENKINS, John M. – Of Burton, age 84, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at University Hospitals in Ann Arbor. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. John L. Musgrave officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of the Marine Corps League Flint Detachment #155 Honor Guard. Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. John was born in Otisville, Michigan on April 4, 1927, son of the late Morris and Clea (Finfrock) Jenkins. He married Virginia Blair in Angola, Indiana in 1953. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Military Policeman in Italy. He was an avid military memorabilia collector and was a member of the VFW. He was an instructor for Tae-Kwon-Do. Mr. Jenkins was employed by GM at the Grand Blanc Plant for over 43 years. Surviving are seven children, Karin Jenkins Hofmann and husband Thomas Hofmann of Keego Harbor, John and wife Laura Jenkins of Fenton, Phyllis and husband Thomas Kelley of Falls Church, Virginia,
Matthew Jenkins of White Lake, Jeanna Jenkins of Flint, Jason Jenkins of Troy, Ginny and husband John DeNardis of Livonia; daughter-in-law, Karen Jenkins; 14 grandchildren, Zack, Delaney, Hadley, Danielle, Perry, Brian, Johnny, Kyle, Lauren, Alison, Jillian, Jessica, Andrew and Elayna.
