Ida Mae "Madame" Henderson, age 93, of Flint, peacefully passed away December 26, 2013. Madame was born June 22, 1920 to Noble and Lula Frasier in Columbia, SC. Funeral Services will be held January 3, 2014, at 11:00AM, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 1610 W. Pierson Rd, Flint. The family will receive visitors at 10:00AM until the start of service. A luncheon will be served at Dom Polski Hall, 3415 N. Linden Rd, Flint, directly following. Pastor Nathanial Henderson Jr. to officiate. Madame has confessed her knowing and love for Jesus Christ our Savior. She had a very strong love for her family and relations, that she called "My People". She often brightened up the lives of many with her great sense of humor. She loved the long rides, which her family called "Driving Miss Daisy". Madame would ride the train at The Huckleberry Railroad at least once a year. She was a woman of much wisdom, remarking "I have a lot of sense in this big head." Madame is survived by her children, Mose Albert Henderson, of Flint, Mary Beulah (friend John) Henderson, of Flint, and Nathanial (Mary) Henderson, of Flint; Son in-law, Lucius Rice; grandchildren, Nate Jr, Cheryl, Micheal, Sophia (Caderal), and Elizabeth; many great and great-great-grandchildren; host of other neices and nephews; and Frankie Henderson, whom Madame never ceased to call her daughter in-law. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Mose Henderson, married in 1934; her parents; sisters, Hattie Stewart and Mary Jeffers; brothers, Johnnie, James, Noble, George, and Jesse Frazier; children, Mary Frances Rice, and Ernestine and Joseph F. Henderson; grandchildren, David, DeWayne, and Delores; and great-grandchildren, Mark, Mecco, and Verdell. Madame will be laid to rest at River Rest Cemetery in Flint. Visitation will be held January 2, 2014 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Reigle Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to East Side Senior Center. Condolences may be made at www.reiglefuneralhome.com |
