YORK, Devern E. - of Clio, age 82, died Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Suncrest in Lapeer. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are being held. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
Devern was born July 20, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late Henry and Anna (Neltson) York. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1955. Devern married Lois Crane on October 27, 1956 in Flint. He retried from AT&T in 1990 after 32 years of seniority and was a member of the CWA Union. Devern enjoyed building computers and anything remote controlled like boats, planes, helicopters and trucks. He was also licensed to operate a Ham Radio. Devern also enjoyed building TV’s, clocks and fixing just about anything. Most of all, he loved spending time with his beloved wife and family.
Surviving are: Wife, Lois York; Children: Robert (Dina) York, Michael York, Steven (Janice Bouchard) York, and Tricia (Chris) Jones; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Robert York.
