James Ward Eppinger, age 87, died April 14, 2020 at Cape Canaveral Hospital, Cocoa Beach FL. Jim was born in Flint Mi on May 6,1932 to Harry Orville Eppinger and Loretta Anne MacMillan Eppinger. He was the sixth of nine children. Jim graduated from Central High School and served in the US Army as a Sargent. He married Margaret (Peggy) Cavanaugh on May 29, 1965. He was employed by McDonald/ Country Fresh Daries for 38 years. Jim loved gardening, his flowers and spending time in Florida. He dearly loved Christmas and family gatherings.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy, his sons, Timothy (Carrie) and Mark (Michele), son-in- law, David Murray, grandchildren, Abby Murray, Garrett Eppinger and Felix Eppinger, sisters-in- law, Colleen Eukel and Donna Cavanaugh, brother-in-law, Kevin (Mary) Cavanaugh and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, daughter, Pamela Murray, his siblings, Betty Porritt, Robert Eppinger, Jean Eppinger, Donald Eppinger,Raymond Eppinger, June Wilson, Alice Venters, and Larry Eppinger, sister-in-law, Maureen Cavanaugh, brothers-in-law, Patrick Cavanaugh and Kenneth Eukel.
If desired contributions may be made to Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint, MI on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Thomas Firestone, celebrant.There will be visitation one hour prior to the service.
