Miller, Leo Nicholas of Flushing, age 77, died Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Durand Senior Care. Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Anthony Brooks will officiate. Cremation will follow the Mass. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Rossell Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the Mass. A Scripture Service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service under of the auspices of Council #8489. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Mission, in David, Kentucky.
Leo was born in Flint, Michigan on November 7, 1940, the son of Leo N. Sr. and Mary (Dingler) Miller. He married Marie Freed on August 4, 1967, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morrice. Leo was a graduate of Dye High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Leo worked for General Motors, retiring after 30 years. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church, where he was an usher and a member of the Men’s Club. Leo was also a member of the Knight’s of Columbus, Council #8489 and the St. Joseph Assembly #2211 as a Fourth Degree Knight. He loved country westerns, jigsaw puzzles, polka music and playing horseshoes. He was a dedicated and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Leo is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie; children, Daniel (Devin) Miller, Thomas Miller, Mary Miller, Mary Beth (Stephen) Schill; grandchildren, Samantha, Amanda, Deeleena, Alexis; brother, Robert (Ann) Miller; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa; and sisters, Eileen Hunt and Leona Dye.
The family would like to thank the staff of Durand Senior Care and Rehab for the wonderful care given to Leo and family.
