FRIDAY, Bernard Gerard Jr. (Bernie) –
Born on December 2, 1962 in Flint, MI, died March 2, 2019 at his home.
Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes.
Bernie was adopted shortly after his birth by his loving mother and father, Bernard Sr and Donna Friday.
After graduating from Atherton High School, he joined the United States Army, where he proudly served as a member of the 101st Airborne in the Cold War era Germany.
Returning from military service, he met the love of his life, Kelly McMillin, and had a child, Collin.
Bernie held several jobs throughout his life, mostly in the mechanical design engineering fields.
He held a special place in his heart for camping in Northern Michigan, spending many summers here throughout his life.
He remained proud of his military service throughout his life, and joined the American Legion.
Bernie is survived by his mother, Donna;
wife, Kelly;
son, Collin (Alex);
grandson, James;
brother, Steve (Trish);
niece, Cami; nephew, Michael; many cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Sr. and his beloved sister, Dawn.
Visitation 10 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery to follow at a later date.
