PEARSON, Carl Leonard - Of Burton, age 78, died Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Pines of Burton.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 and 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
Carl was born in Grand Blanc on January 9, 1936, the son of Forrest Merril and Sarah (Dafoe) Pearson. On October 25, 1958, he married Marilyn Franklin in Traverse City, MI and she preceded him in death in 1997. Carl graduated from Grand Blanc High School, Class of 1954. He served aboard the USS Cutter Mackinaw while serving in the United States Coast Guard in Traverse City from 1956 to 1962. Carl was employed at AC Spark Plug as a fork truck driver.
Surviving are son, David Pearson;
daughter, Mary Lou Pearson;
grandsons, Jonathan Kenworthy and Scott Pearson;
great-grandchildren, Logan and Abigail;
sister, Evelyn Lee.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sisters, Thelma (Pearson) Young and Margaret (Pearson) Older and brother, Lewis Pearson.
