WRIGHT, Benjamin F. Jr., – of Clio, age 70, died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be held at 11AM Monday, February 18, 2019 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Francis Faraci officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 1PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed 7PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Make-A-Wish Foundation or the American Heart Association.
Ben was born May 18, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to the late Benjamin and Mary (Claud) Wright Sr. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1966. Ben married Laura Ringlein October 20, 1973 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He was employed with Sears Roebuck and Co., as a display manager and also worked in sales where he received numerous awards for his work. Ben was a member of the Coachmen Car Club and was very passionate about raising money for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. He was an avid hunter, and invented his very own removable tree step that he later had patented. Ben also enjoyed woodworking and was quite the handyman.
Surviving are: Wife of 45 years, Laura Wright; Son, Ben (Louisa) Wright; Daughter, Heather Wright (Joseph Davis); Step grandson, Xander Kuehlewind; Furry grand dogs: Mel, Bolt, and The Dude; Brothers: Fred (Sharon) Wright, and Pat Wright; Sister, Ann Wright; Many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Ben was also preceded in death by his sister, Fran “Sis” Wright; Nephew, Troy Wright, and sister in law, Linda Wright.
