CARRIERE, Phillip E. – Of Flint, age 84, died Saturday, May 4, 2019 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Friday, May 10, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,
Father Anthony J. Strouse officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Visitation 4-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 12Noon Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Phillip was born in Pickford, Michigan on November 4, 1934, the son of the late Alexander and Marie (Ouellette) Carriere. Phil served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Chase Bank after 42 years of service, then went on to work at Swartz Funeral Home for 21 years. Phil was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and loved bowling and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are children, Bryan Carriere of Swartz Creek, Michael and wife Libby Carriere of Kalamazoo and Tanya Carriere of Flint;
grandchildren, Nicole Carriere, Morgan Carriere, and Carson Carriere;
great-grandchildren, William and Ahvianna;
sisters, Elaine Carriere of Mt. Morris and Jeanette and husband Claude Boucher of Swartz Creek;
brother, Lawrence and wife Janet Carriere of Grand Blanc;
longtime companion, Patricia Fearon;
and many nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine (Muldoon) Carriere.
