BROWN, Dale R. – of Flint, MI, age 85, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020. A Private Funeral Service will be held at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Goodman “Goodie” Cox officiating. Interment in Crestwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Medical Team Hospice, in Dale’s memory.
Dale was born in Owosso, MI on April 10, 1935, son of the late Lloyd E. and Ardyth (Fulton) Brown. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for three years, six months and five days as a payroll clerk and drill instructor. Dale married Marilyn Morin in 1958 and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2006. He retired from General Motors in 1998 after 43 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #651. Dale also worked as a paraprofessional in the machine shop at Kearsley High School. He loved watching Jeopardy and was an avid reader. Most of all, Dale enjoyed attending his grandsons’ various sporting events and concerts.
Dale is survived by 4 children, Brian Brown, Lorraine Brown, Mary Monroe and Catherine (Joseph) Stants; 5 grandsons, James, Jacob, Nicholas, Michael and Matthew; great-grandson, Peyton; sister, Janet May and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ardyth Brown and his wife, Marilyn Brown.
The family would like to thank The Medical Team Hospice for going above and beyond expectations in caring for Dale. Thanks also to Marissa, Jeff, Bryan, and Bruce from FirstLight Home Care; and Ebony from Reformation Home Health.
