POTES, Patrick Of Flushing, age 75, entered his eternal home on Thursday, February 26, 2015.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Faith Missionary Church, 1327 North Elms Road, Flint, Pastors Brent Kriesch, Thomas Knight and Rick Turner co-officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday at the church. There will be no visitation at the Swartz Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to Faith Missionary Church.
Patrick was born May 13, 1939 to Trobert and Margarete Potes in Kalkaska, Michigan. After graduating in 1958, he served in the U.S. Army.
Then one fateful night, Patrick called the wrong phone number and his future wife, Janet, answered. Patrick and Janet (Schreiber) were married May 25, 1963 and would have celebrated their 52nd anniversary this May.
He worked at Buick for 32 years.
Patrick enjoyed playing many sports and played AA fast pitch softball (Flint League) for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman.
Patrick and Janet loved camping at Young State Park. He served at Faith Missionary Church in many capacities for several decades.
He leaves his wife, Janet;
daughter, Tracy (James) Leman;
granddaughters, Heather, Hillary and Ashley;
His church family; sisters-in-law, Judy, Emogene and Barb Potes and Marion Hastings;
brother-in-law, Bob Hastings; and other family members.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father; brothers, Tom, Bill, Jack and Bruce; his father and mother-in-law, Jacob and Agnes Schreiber; and his friend, Dan Rigan.
We wish to thank Dr. Halim and staff, McLaren CCU (Hollie), and Regency at Grand Blanc.
Patrick will always live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
